What a great afternoon and evening of riding and racing.

And a really nice change to ride in conditions that weren’t like a blast furnace. I went back to my tried and true strategy of just enjoying the ride and saving the racing if there was to be any for the last lap or two and it worked as I was able to finish the race with a quick lap and some solid uphill climbing to hold on for second place.

Lots of fun and a great short track that really was very enjoyable.

Round 2 - Sunday 17th Jan.

Good onya, sounds like you had a good race and a good race plan!
What gear did u run? 32 x 19?
and who won? Dangersean?

Yes Bernd it was a lot of fun for a change.

The trusty 32 x 19.

Heading into the last lap Sean was right on my tail so I smashed it up the first hill we got to which did the trick. He came in just over a minute behind me but it was a close race between us and a lot of fun.

Michael Churchward came first 10 laps 4:16:01

I need to do some secret training over Christmas.

... to both of you!! well done.
I bet V would have kill'd it, too and Supagav must have raced "another" bike..... with gears!!!

Sorry Bernd, no bike with gears for me, I just raced in solo men instead. It was a great race track on sat except the climb after max's bridge, I will get it one day!!! Boh both V and I knocked 10 laps and she came away with the win.
Well done Damien on a well timed run to the finish line, see racing is fun after all. (especially when it is not bloodly hot).

Came up behind Damien jusr before transition after swapping between 2nd and 3 rd with him for most of the race. Stupid me announced I was behind him. We hammered the trail until the first climb after the carpark for Damien to ask 'lets see if you are a hard man Sean' and promptly stand up and attack the climb. I stood, nothing left in the legs after a solid 3.5+ hours on the SS. So I managed a 3rd place and about a minute behind Damien.
He can do secret training over xmas, but I will be too. See you on the 17/01/10 for round 2!

Thanks for a great race Sean it was fun.

I was expecting you to get on my wheel at transition I was fairly sure I spoted you on the last bit of trail just before we got there.

If I was going to get home in front I figured I had to do it on the hill and do it hard and fast or I was going to cramp up.

The next round should be good fun too I will be training but only so I can enjoy the race and riding I am not going to kill myself trying to be a mtb hero unless of course your on my wheel again for the last lap.
