Anybody been down to Mogo over Christmas and can report on the condition of the Maulbrooks Loop? From what I've read, it was still a bit cluttered with horizontal trees in a few places well after the storms that blew out the Angry Doctor.
Also has anyone done the Corn Trail in the last few years? I haven't been on it since 2005 and I don't think anyone had done any work on it then since its reopening in 1988, so unless its had a touch up since, I suspect it is a now lost cause for mtb's.

I got my first chance to ride Mogo over Christmas, mostly following the Angry Doctor route. My parents live down there so I had a bit over a week to explore.
The first 50 of the AD course is now pretty rideable after we got in with a chainsaw and cleared two bad sections either side of the highway. There are still a few trees down but most of it you can ride around. There is one corner thats a total mess before a water crossing that links onto Runnyford Rd, but if you get out onto the easement you can get around it. The two forest roads that they typically take across the top of the course are both still full of trees but Salt Water Rd is essentially the same thing and is clear.
In general all the singletrack I came across to the east of the highway looks in good condition. I think a lot of this wasn't hit so hard as it was protected a little.
The south western bit where the second 50 runs, which is also the area around the club trails, looks like it copped the worst of it and got hammered. The club has been in and managed to clear a 10km loop of trail which includes the Snake Track, but other than this there is still miles of work before the club network is back up and running.
Outside of the club trails, the moto trails and minor forest rds that the second 50 of the AD course runs on are just as hammered. The major forest roads are generally passable.
It kind of depends what you are looking for I guess. If you want to put together a longer ride than what the club loop offers it is hit and miss.
I don't know which one the Corn Trail is but if you are able to point it out I'll let you know if I came across it.

Thanks for the update browny. Am heading down that way in a couple of weeks and usually ride from Broulee via the old Mossy Point Rd to the highway and then cross country to the top of the Snake Track, or cart the bikes over to the marked track head (or both). Sounds like careful riding required at least the first time through an area.
The Corn Trail is not in the Mogo trail area, but has been an interesting ride in the past. Probably getting overgrown and more blocked by downed tress as well.
