Anything we could ride in this stretch of forest along the Nepean River near Glenmore?

Yes, there is a little.

I've rode it a few times. Rileys Mountain Trail (firetrail) runs roughly parrallel to the river and is 5km long.

Around half way is Lockyers Lookout. A fantastic view and you can just make out Euroka clearing on the otherside of the river.

Rileys Mountain Trail has a few steep climbs with the return trip offers a really fun water bar run.

Only ride the firetrail as far as the Nepean Narrows Lookdown signpost. After that point the Firetrail goes down a steep hill with a private property gate at the bottom. Ive been down this once and almost hit the gate. Only option at the gate is to turn around with a steep climb back up.

Nepean Narrows is an easy ride out and back with another fantastic view.

This is a little more there but always full of spider webs.

Its also worth noting that the firetrail is often ridden with horses so be mindful of this if you are out there.

I've been meaning to do a proper run along the firetrail so I can map it and add it to the rides database. Possibly doing this on Saturday if you are interested in a ride.

This map isnt the best as I did some hike-a-bike exploring

Sorry for the late reply, unfortunately I can't this week-end.
Maybe another week-end soon?

But thanks for the details.
