Kanangra Classic
Carpark by Kanangra Walls. About 60Km South of Jenolan on dirt road.
The Kanangra Classic is a great weekend of Mountain Biking held in the beautiful Kanangra Boyd National Park. The rides on offer are:
24km prologue on Saturday 20th October
50km race on Sunday 21st October
100km Race on Sunday 21st October.
Located just 146km west of Penrith and approx 30 minutes from the Oberon township the Kanangra Boyd National Park is an iconic part of the greater Blue Mountains.
The event starts and finishes at Jensens Farm just a few hundred metres from Boyd River Camp Ground. In 2012 both Boyd River Camp ground as well as Jensens Farm will be available for camping throughout the Classic weekend. There are also plenty of great places to stay in the nearby township of Oberon or at Caves House at Jenolan Caves.
This event sold out in 2011. We expect a sellout in 2012.
All entrants receive a FREE Cycling Jersey valued at $79.95 with their entrie.

Anyone camping?
Yeah I am.
Costs $12 and you have to pre-book.
I don't fancy driving out at 4:00am like some did last year then having to race, me and Jim got up when we were ready and didn't have to drive anywhere.
Yep camping but haven't come to grips with the $12 per head. Max adventure give you a ready to sleep tent for $10. No word on if the money is donated to the firies or community group as per usual for these things.
Camping at Euroka at Glenbrook is $10 per adult and $5 per child over 5 years, so it's sort of in keeping with NPWS pricing. I suppose the money would just go to Parks.
Greetings JP, I haven't been to Coles lately to catch up with you. I will be camping at the Kanangra ( my son is doing the riding) so hope to catch up on the Sat night for a beer. Brian
Bummer. By the time we pulled our fingers out and decided the whole fam would camp, the camping and catering had closed! Looks like I'll be doing the sneaky bivvy close to the event hub on Saturday night. See you there.
Same, mate had a look today and it's closed. They are not real clear on camping, last year it was in the NP campground but this year they have event hub camping on the private property that is why I questioned where the $12 went. NP camp ground is usually free or $7 for park entry, shouldn't be any problem pitching the tent in the NP campground space permitting.
