Friday arvo dig at Rydal
Rydal Showground. Top of Market St
From the highway come into Rydal, cross the train tracks and take a left before the Pub (Showground signposted.)
Trails leads out either side of the show ground to the north
OK so at the AGM there was a bit of talk about maintenance days and how hard it's been to coordinated weekends.
Friday afternoons were suggested as a better alternative as some have RDOs, some have early knock offs and, well it just doesn't interfere with weekend family time.
I won't be able to get the next week but continue on. For those that couldn't make it last time and are not sure where you are going if you go straight across the show ground and then turn left on the road follow it along a bit towards where the dump run starts and keep an eye out in the bush to the right. You should see what i like to call the big arse berms. Continue taking a shaping the trails in between.
Also if you can't make Friday afternoons but have spare time over weekend or through the week simply raking the lines inbetween the berms will be a big help
You'll need:
Essential
Study shoes, appropriate clothing for the weather, food and water, basic first aid kit/snake bandage (as per what you'd generally have while riding).
Optional
Rakes, shovels, wheel barrows, whipersnippers (if not high fire danger day).
Hopefully we can break into a couple of groups for this on with DHers working on the little trail to the east of the show ground in the hopes of getting it Ok for weekly mini DH of a Tuesday afternoon.
XC rider will concentrate on raking the section Gary has been working on
Anyone turning up early who want to make a start on something can work their way along Robbies Run and up Snake tails http://ctmbc.net/node/19570, just raking off the loose material and recording where additional drainage work needs to be implimented
Anyone wishing to help out should make themselves familiar with our volunteer trail builders guidelines http://ctmbc.net/node/21757
