Back Yamma XC MTB Race 2016 - postponed
Camping area in Back Yamma State Forrest. This is around 25km South of Parkes.
Postponed to 16/10/2016 due to wet weather and mud.
This is a Cross Country MTB race on a 25km loop in Back Yamma State Forrest. Formats for Beginners and Juniors (25km), Average Punters (50km, 2-3hrs) and Masochists (100km, 4-6hrs). The loop will be similar to the former Back Yamma Big Foot first lap. This is a club based event, so compared to the Big Foot, there won't be very much bling.
There are plenty of great camp sites at Back Yamma so feel free to camp the night before.
Toilets will be provided and a BBQ for lunch on Sunday but you should plan to bring all your own stuff.
Prizes will be determined on the day, depending on the number of entries and the categories run on the day.
This will be an MTBA registered race.
Make sure you bring plenty of water. There are no taps.
This area is prone to cat heads (prickles) so go tubeless, put gel in your tubes, carry extra tubes, get heavy duty tubes, risk it. You decide.

"Hi all. Back Yamma is all systems go. We have some people from Parkes going for a look Wednesday. We will get 3 or 4 days at 20 degrees this week which help. If it looks wet Wednesday I will go over myself Friday. We were there about 4 weeks ago and even after the rain we had up to then it was quite good. Fingers crossed the weather gods are good to us this week."
.... with more rain happening today. Looking at re-scheduling "in about 5 weeks".
Really keen for this event, happy that it was postponed but is Registration going to open again now?
My guess is it will be opened again when the new date is confirmed. I'll be sure to post here when that happens.
