Hi Nobmobbers! i did my first race last weekend at Wingello. 3 hours of fun and 1 hour of hate. but im booked in for the pivot summer race.
i placed 17th out of 48 in the mens solo category.i think thats purely out of persistance and not because i was going so fast. i look forward to meeting some of the NOBMOB crew. youll have to introduce yourself. ill be the one with the custom pivot mach 5! Darren.

Hi,

I wouldn't mind giving this a go in a pair. Is there anyone out there of the same mindset?

Cheers Lincoln

Everyone ready? all trained up and super fit? I'm really looking forward to the race.
First time riding in Yarramundi as well. I've no idea how many are entered in the men's solo category
but i hope to place around the top of the middle third. Or bottom of the top third if you happen to be an optimist!
Good luck to one and all. See you there, Darren.

Congratulations are in order for Vanina today as she continued her domination on the local MTB scene. 1st place at the Pivot 4 hour today in solo Womens with 10 laps, there was also a good number in the Womens category, she did well in the very hot conditions. I managed 13th from 100 in solo mens.
Cheers John.
Ps There wasn't too many guys that beat her!

With 250 entrants the snakes laid low today.
Pivot, I was hoping to meet today and check out your bike but I didn't see you.
John.

Well done Vanina.

Blew up not a good day - 8 laps 3hr 22min. I chose today to step up to a bigger gear on the SS I probably should of held of and waited until my training starts to kick in oh well too late now.

I was there. i had a KOM shirt on. there was three of them around. and i felt i rode well except i blew out the front tyre and had to walk for ages to get back to the track pump to reinflate. i felt good and had good lap times and was averaging between 84 to 88% heart rate per lap. better luck next time i guess. and gosh darn it, the weather conditions were perfect and the trail was very cool! Hey what do you think of the idea about a 4 hour of our own around manly dam? its the training i need. i have made good progress in the last 5-6 weeks.

Congrats Vanina on an excellent result.

We can only hope your slacker boyfriend
can rise from your efforts Eye-wink

Keep up the good work

It only dawned on me as I was leaving that I parked next to V and Co. I level pegged with V. all day also 10 laps for me. She beat me on time though congrats!

Ah... if only the council would let us race the dam. No such luck - too many roads and other pesky regulations Sad

Top work you lot though, so V is gearing up for 24 hour domination later in the year? Eye-wink

I think I passed you while you had the bike upside down, there are not too many bikes that colour blue, very bad luck. I would have been happier if it was cooler today. There is a training ride posted for up here in the mountains for the 18th but it has reached it's rider limit of 10 so keep an eye on it, as someone may pull out. Or post a ride at the Dam yourself.
Cheers John.

i was there also, i did 9 or 10 laps, not sure lost count, results say i did 11 laps but sure it wasnt that many so i think they threw in an extra one for me.
Was a hot day, tough conditions, track was awesome with not much climbing, think i did 1000m ish over the whole race.
I also blew out a front tyre, ripped the sidewall off a brand new crossmark, put in a new tube and limped back with 20psi in the tyre, luckily had a spare crossmark in the boot so changed it over and away i was (cost me another lap i think with the 2 changes, limping back etc). Was happy with how things went (need to get my eating/drinking stops faster, wasted more time with that), if i did 9 laps would put me somewhere in 30th and 10 laps somewhere in 20th, so out of 100 solo riders i am happy with that. will have to check garmin for exact km's.

Yeah congrads to V again. I really suffered in the heat yesterday and never felt that good.
Bending my seat around the seat post left me riding in a funny position as well. I gave up trying to
get it in the right position after a couple of goes. I found it tough going all day.
V on the other hand, well she was in her element, she didint even notice the heat and thought the race wasnt
to hard. She needs to get into some serious training now. A few long months of training should see her
doing well in enduro racing this year.
