XC Riders (Orange-Dubbo)

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Gday, I am just getting into XC MTB and looking to ride with anyone around Dubbo and Orange (I live nearly halfway in between). I have committed to the 2hr XC at Kinross and would like to do some training. My fitness is OK, no extreme skills but getting a few good rides in now, 20k to 60k on mostly open dirt road (pretty slow I think but fitness is improving). Can ride nearly anytime.

Cheers

Where to start

Gday, my name is Gus and I am living around the Orange area. I'm looking to get started in XC mountain biking. I have purchased a second hand Specialized Pitch Pro, in as new condition, and am wanting to get out for a ride whenever I can but not sure how to start being at the beginner level.

Cheers

Clubs need volunteers

Every one likes to race and most people appreciate the efforts of those organising it.

Most are happy to help out where they can in the lead up on the day of a race but have you ever thought about becoming a commissaire?

The commissaire is the one who makes sure things are being run safely and fairly.

At club level you can also be an organiser or entrant and generally doesn't take too much out of your time. That said they are essential to the running of the race.

Big thanks for some great riding over the weekend!

Great job in building out all these trails. Special thanks to Mel, Sarah, Scott, Matt, John, and Grant for showing me around.

Please let me know when you come down to Sydney and we'll organise something.

We'll be back to Orange, too!

Cheers,
Volker

Hi guy pony club have a big camp/comp this week end and have asked that no one rides pony express this weekend.
So if you can spread the word that would be great.

Bit hot anyway but if you are riding try one of the other trails.

Thanks.

In Orange 17-19 of January

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi All,

I'll be in Orange for a long weekend from the 17-19 of January. Sounds like there is some great XC riding around Orange and I should bring my bike along.

Anybody local up for some rides Friday, Saturday and/ or Sunday morning? I can try to find my way around with GPS, but I guess it would be much nicer (and saver) with somebody local to show me the trails.

Please let me know.

Cheers,
Volker

Tour guide required

Hi Guys , I am traveling through Orange ( and Dubbo ) next Wednesday 7th August (and Thursday 8th Dubbo)and would love to ride Kinross or similar , but I don't know the area and was hoping to find someone to ride with for an hour or so after work

If I cant find anyone willing to ride with a slow to medium paced middle aged sales rep , are the trails signposted really well ( I've been known to get lost on a football field)

Any heads up on this would be appreciated guys

Wayne

New trails at Orange

Good news for the MTB-ers out at Orange. If the new trails are anything like the ones at Kinross, they'll be awesome.

Damage at Rydal

Just got a message from Matt Cowley that the track has been a bit ripped up by motor bikes over the weekend. If anyone has some time to head out with a rake before Tuesdays race it would be appreciated
