2011 Summer Series Rydal #1
From the highway come into Rydal and take a sharp left after crossing the railway. Follow the dirt road up past the houses. *Please* Be mindful of the locals, they bought places here to get away from the rat race so take it slow and keep noise to a minimum.
At the top of the hill take the left fork and follow the road past the cemetery.
With thanks to Stella Maris Mining Services and Centennial Coal we will be continuing the weekly Tuesday night races on the new trail at Rydal.
for the first 4 races we upping the entry fee to $10 to help cover trail building expenses (kids under 14 $5)
The first couple of races will involved a fair bit of fire road until we can get some more time to fix up more trail.
Please remember the dirt road leading to the cemetery is a residential street and we don't want to up set the locals so go slow and keep noise down.
If it's raining the race will be off
Andoaks + maybe Knapsack + extra downhill
MEETING POINT HAS CHANGED FROM LAPSTONE TO EMU PLAINS!
Emu Plains Station carpark (two before Glenbrook to catch an extra downhill at the end and secure a place on the train before the Oaks mob boards at Glenbrook) to catch the 08:13 train up to Wentworth Falls.
or...
If you live between Emu Plains and Wentworth Falls, board the train in the last carriage to meet mid-journey.
or...
If you live around Wentworth Falls, we'll regroup after disembarking the train around the toilet block around 09:15, therefore you can meet us there.
(It'd be nice if you could notify me if you're meeting at the latter two points! )
Couple of points first:
a) The meeting status wouldn't let me enter exactly what I wanted, so the real meeting status is: "If it's raining hard (more than a sprinkle) and predicted to be above 30 degrees in the mountains, I won't be there."
b) The pace will be "brisk social" - This will mean a couple of stops will happen at the creeks and the helipad, though besides that I want us to be able to move along at a fairly rapid pace, so it'd be preferable to ride with people with a higher degree of fitness.
Tuesday after Christmas Scribblies
Scribblies
So, a mate of mine who I'm trying to convert from Road to MTB is coming up for some post christmas single track fun! We're going to head out there on the morning of Tuesday the 28th December (My last piece of holiday!)
It'll be a social pace ride (read, lots of chatting!), with plenty of fun! Anyone is welcome to come along - as usual at Scribblies (well anywhere), the more the merrier!
Glenbrook to the Oaks
Glenbrook Park. In the small car park opposite the shops.
One last ride before the Chrissy blowout.
Glenbrook to the Oaks(the middle gate) via Euroka and Bennetts Ridge firetrail, return on the single track.

2010 Here come the logging trucks #7
From Lithgow head on the Western Highway toward Bathurst. After 10-11Km you will head uphill and see thick pine forest to the right. It's dual carriageway here, and there's a right turn across the other lane into Forest Ridge Drive (signposted and a sealed road). About 50m on the left there's a turning where you can park in the shade. There's also an old concrete section of the highway just past there with masses of parking.
Yeah I know I haven't had time to get the results from last week up...
This is the last one before the Christmas break
This week we're going back to the sprint track, basically the reverse of what we've been doing but cutting out half the bottom fire rd and all of the far single track... In all probablilty I'm going to be a little late with rego so if the guys who know the track can get the arrows and bunting changed over before I get it would be appreciated.
Afterwards if we can grab all the bunting in and have a beer that would also be awesomeness + 5
