Mt York Shuttles

When:
Saturday, 17 July, 2010 - 09:00
Meeting Point:

Camping / parking area at far end of Mt York Rd. This is also the start of Coxs. From Mt Vic, head west on the hwy for a few minutes, then turn right at the servo (Mt York Rd). Follow this to the end.

150 Mt York Rd, Mt Victoria, NSW

This is a MT York shuttle day. We should be able to do 3 or 4 laps.

Trail Options

There are 4 trails that head down the escarpment from Mt York Rd: Coxs, Lockyers, Lawsons and Berghoffers. I recommend that we do a couple of laps of Lockyers, then we can try Coxs if we want some variety. The other two aren't generally as good when you have a choice like we do.

Trail Grades/Bike Choice

Of the two, Lockyers is longer, Coxs is steeper.

Nocturnal Grose Head South

When:
Saturday, 10 July, 2010 - 19:00
Meeting Point:

Winmalee shopping centre, Whitecross Rd, Winmalee.

OK, it's time for a GHS night ride methinks. Meet in the car park at the front of the Winmalee shopping centre for a 1900hrs start.

Along Hawkesbury Rd to Halcyon St for the sniggle before the fire trail. Out to the lookout at Grose Head South (to enjoy the view in the darkness), and then down Bees Nest Hill into the swamp, for the ascent up to Whitecross Rd and back to the shops. Lovely.

All abilities welcome, as pace will be social-ish.

Lidsdale State Forest
Meeting Point:

From Lithgow head on the Western Highway toward Bathurst. After 10-11Km you will head uphill and see thick pine forest to the right. It's dual carriageway here, and there's a right turn across the other lane into Forest Ridge Drive (signposted and a sealed road). About 50m on the left there's a turning where you can park in the shade. There's also an old concrete section of the highway just past there with masses of parking.

O.K. ladies and gentelmen, it is time we headed west into Flynny territory, the wonderful lidsdale xc track, dont be fooled, it is not just xc, this place has gap jumps, double jumps, good fast downhill sections, and also downhill technical riding into the mix, a couple of lungbusting climbs all in the confines of the state forest, you will have the smell of pine in your nostrils!.
With a little luck we might be able to get Flynny to come out and lead us around!
I know this is a long drive but it is a must on any bike riders to do list!
