hi guys,
couple weeks ago I was asking which thru bolt to get for a scott scale hard tail and i said i would report back once installed.
so here we go. took a little longer after CRC sent me a 100mm QR instead of the thru bolt, but to be fair, exchange and refund was pretty painless. also in the meantime jenson had received new stock and it was cheaper there anyway.

I ordered the 135 thru bolt which in fact measures 170mm from inside fixing nut to end of bolt. there's a threaded part from 150 to 170 and in my frame the dropouts sit on the bolt and not the thread. i could easily take 10mm off the bolt and it would still work.

the other part was the hub conversion. i spent a bit of time researching what wicked tool would be required to take the caps off before i realised you can take the non-drive side off with your fingers and then pop the other side out very easily. took that opportunity to put a new cassette on as well.

so, there you have it. if you've got a 240 hub and want to convert, get the 135bolt unless you have a serious downhill rig.

PS:tried to upload a photo but get an error message each time???
