First time riding at Rydal. Usual casual but smooth organisation from Rocky Trail. Nice little track courtesy of CTMTB. The track flows pretty much along the side of a ridge, crosses over and then flows back up along the other side. Not much in the way of climbing or descending, just plenty of tight single track. Brake, pedal, brake, pedal. On it all day. Plenty of trees and branches on corners. As a tall guy, I felt at some risk of concussion if I didn't get the cornering right.

The Rydal Showground makes for an ideal event centre. Weather was fabulous after weeks of crap weather in Sydney. Track was in pretty good nick after a little bit of rain earlier in the week. There was even dust!

Found it a bit hard to keep lap times up for 4 hours with all the hard pedalling. Started with a couple of low 30's and finished with a few high 30's. Rear tyre was fine on this track!

The original rider list had shown 2 in the over 60's male category. I was announced as the winner not long after I finished my 7th lap, but it seems the other guy had over-stated his age and had been dropped to the 50-59 age group. So another uncontested win...

The other guy would have beaten me anyway, managing to squeeze in 8 laps in not much more time than I took for 7.
