"Swing Out" Bike Rack Project

I have owned a goose neck bike rack forever and always been frustrated when the bikes are fitted and I want to open the tailgate. It is very difficult to fold down the rack once loaded. After a long time in the planning, dusted off the arc welder and created a swing adapter. Thought it worth sharing and may even inspire some new creations based on this design. Don’t believe there is a commercial version available for this particular tow bar and rack combination.

Tubeless pressures?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Thanks to all who helped with their advice on setting up tubeless tyres. It worked out great and I love how well the tyres roll and grip.

I'm just wondering what your thoughts would be regarding an appropriate pressure for 2.1" rubber around the Dam, and around Ourimbah at the Fat Tyre.

I realise there's a bit of trial and error involved, and a bit depends on how I ride, so I'm just looking for a ball-park. I'm roughly 85kg kitted up + ~13kg bike, if that helps.

Thanks (again) for your help.

I have no clue about TWE wheels.
However may I recommend something for you. All are based on Hope pro 2 hubs.

4 inch vs 5 inch

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi,

I have recently moved to Sydney with my schwinn hardtail. after one ride, I am convinced of the need to buy a dually.
Have shopped/reviewed around - and have come down to the following choices:
- giant trance 1 vs giant trance x1
- stumpy vs fsr xc

I will be riding mainly on firetrails (cascades, and kuringai national park)
The main difference (other than derailleurs and brakes) is the difference in shock travel. Why would I need 4inch as opposed to 5inch

Any help/advice would be great

VPP, Four Bar Suspensions and the Horst Link, Single Pivot,FSR System!!

Can anyone please give me some advice (non-sales pitches just good honest opinions) on dual suspension linkage types!

As some of you know I am after a new bike when my Mongoose Sells. See: http://nobmob.com/node/6440 but cant decide on the which bike to get?

VPP, Four Bar Suspensions and the Horst Link, Single Pivot,FSR System!! I’m sure they all work fine but have different advantages and disadvantages, including different maintenance intervals. (bearing changes and strip & clean intervals)

Hi, does anyone know the best place to obtain a 1/8" Half-link connector?

Every bike store I called did not have it.

looks like this:

I need it to help solve this problem.

rear shock size?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Do i have to replace my rear shock with one of the same spec:
i.e. eye2eye length and stroke?
or can i go for a slightly smaller one?

specifically. i have a e2e = 200mm, stroke = 57mm
i'm looking at a e2e = 195mm, stroke = 50mm
