Selling Frame - Worth a freshen up?
Hey All,
My current frame (Heckler) is too small for me. I need to get a larger one so this one has to go....Unfortunately I can’t shell out and buy another one without selling this one first.
Being an ’04 model it has its fair share of scrapes and cable rub marks however the frame is sound and has no cracks or dents. I will replace the pivot bearings and include my DHX5 Coil shock and DT Swiss air shock in the sale.
Question is; is it worth stripping back and re-powder coating the frame and applying new decals from SC? I don’t know how cheap I can get the paint done for yet, but I know that new decals cost $70.00 +.
Will I recoup these costs (and then some) with the sale? Is it worth it?

Honestly, it's not worth it
unless you can get someone to powder coat it for free...
you will spend more money than its worth trying to make it new again
just sell it as is

Quite a while ago I had some bike stuff powder coated the cost then was only $100AUS. I say stuff because I originally only wanted to coat one BMX type frame but for the money I was willing to part with.....I ended up coating two frames, two crank sets, two folks, two handlebars and two goose necks. As I wasn't in a rush for it the guys there at http://www.brookvalepowdercoating.com.au/ just waited until someone else wanted something painted in midnight blue. And then did it all at once saving me a large part of the cost.
So I guess the point should really be do YOU want to spend the time pulling down your stead and preparing it (needs to be very very very clean DEFINITELY no grease)
I’m going to leave is as is. Someone else pointed out that a potential buyer may get suspicious and think that I’m trying to hide any cracks or other potential issues.
