That's just awesome-o!!!
I love the description: "its bright appearance and improved manufacturing process enhance the value and outstanding of the bicycle."
Interesting though that the power figures are only shown for 0 to 60 degrees. Does this shape/design simply mean that the deadspot has been moved to another point of the rotation? And what does "Toe out on turn" technique mean?
So who's going to be the first to buy and try them out?
Japlish aside, my non-engineering brain wonders why putting a curved crank betwixt pedal and BB makes any difference to anything? How does it actually change the turning force being exerted on the BB and front cogs? It "might" move a dead spot from when the crank (and pedal on a standard set up) is at tdc to where the pedal is at tdc, but I can't see how it would remove it?
Was this put on eBay on April 1?
The curvy cranks do nothing. These cranks are the some as straight ones that have the same distance between the pedal and bottom bracket axes of rotation. Maybe just a bit heavier.
As mentioned, the pedal spindles are still inline with the bb and each other. To remove the dead spot at tdc some have tried elliptical rings and offset cranks or both. However, this is hardly commonplace and it's been a long time since Shimano BioPace. Rotor rings and cranksets are pretty interesting yet I wouldn't say they're popular. The benefit of eliminating the dead spot at tdc is very small. It's measurable and is a real thing yet clearly the industry at large doesn't see it as a worthwhile technology to persue.
This product is a gimmick and for fun only.
you pedal backwards?
You rip a hole in the space time continuum!?
Exercise makes you look younger!
