The GT system is basically a single pivot.

The advantages of that are many, the disadvantages include changing effective chain length (unless pivots around BB) which leads to bio pacing and brake jack

The IDrive basically is a second pivot that lets the BB swing forward as the suspension goes up in such a away that the effective chain length stay the same and so does the distance between the seat and the BB

After seeing this gentleman spins the pedals around a few times and lift the rear thingy part a few more, it's all clear now!
