Hi, Can anyone recommend a comfortable seat for a Giant Anthem X3. The seat that comes with the Giants is a bit too tough for my tail.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately saddles are very personal and it doesn't matter what someone finds comfy as it might be hell for you. For the record I have a Selle SMP Lite 209 on the road bike and Selle SMP Stratos on the MTB. They take a few rides to get used to but they force you to sit on your sit bones.

I really rate them, find them really comfy and very durable.

Not talking klingons... I mean clothing. Evil

Are you wearing trail shorts, knicks and overshorts, full bibknicks and overshorts (my preference) or just boardies and your Reg Grundies?

If the latter, no saddle will be comfortable to sit on for long. LOL!

I'm a fan of Fizik saddles. I have a Nisene on my Jekyll that's very comfy although heavy and sadly no longer made, a Gobi XM on the commuter hardtail that's firm but good, and I had an Aliante on it previously which was real nice until it broke when I hit a pothole at the top of Allambie Road..

Another saddle that I rode recently and really liked was a Selle Italia SL. It was really light, very comfy... but didn't look like it would survive rough treatment all that well.

I have been wearing some trail shorts (Torpedo) and other bike shorts, just below the knee with chamois seat padding. Sounds like ive just got to ride more than just on the weekends and toughen up a little. I will check out the other seats though.

Thanks for the advice.

Maybe spend less time in the saddle!!

Thanks for the reply. Is the seat the SELLE ITALIA Shiver TLD Swoop Saddle - with the funky design. About $100.00 from torpedo.
