BMORC Xmas ride.

With the year cracking along and chrissy approaching fast, I think it's time to put up suggestions for a BMORC Xmas ride. I have met a few guys that have expressed interest in heading out in a large-ish group for a day of mtb escapades, and what better way to expand the social ties of the mtb community than another big group ride.

I reckon something memorable, with great views, that is easy enough for all but slightly challenging. How does a Narrowneck excursion sound? Failing that, the ever popular Oaks followed by a BBQ at Glenbrook.

Any other suggestions?

Good idea JP.

Narrow neck maybe has some advantages because you don't need the train for shuttling. BBQ would need to be at a park nearby however.

Oaks having a BBQ straight after however is very appealing.

Possibly Mt Vic Lockyers/Lawson and BBQ at the top of Cox's?

Knapsack

I love the BBQ idea

can you BBQ in Knapsack ? if yes then that lookout is prime, and the fatties like me can do one lapper and setup whilst you younger, fitter and more attractive types can spin away for another.

Also, how about mundee ? (maybe for future gatherings ... Bushcare, BBQ and ride or vice versa)

Primary Vote Knapsack with BBQ at the lookout (maybe we can get permission off council to get a vehicle out to the lookout with a BBQ)

Secondary Vote Oaks with BBQ at Eureka Clearing

Alternatively for something Different. Start at Eureka Clearing, Ride Bennetts ridge, Nepean lookout, Red Hands Cave, Single Track, Tunnel View Lookout, Portal Lookout, and back to Eureka for BBQ

Essentially, I just want a BBQ Smiling LoL

Yeah good thinking! I just want a BBQ too, and guilt free after a ride is even better!

The tour deEuroka is a cool idea.

Knapsack may just be the sensible approach... do a bit of PR while we are there.

The newbs from up the mountains are happy to come down. I have a 4 burner that fits in the back of the ute, 2 gas bottles and cooking utensils.

Either Knapsack or Glenbrook NP would be coolio, so lets get some dates up. December 4th or 5th (Sat or Sun)?

How does Sunday 5th December at Knapsack sound? If we're unable to have a BBQ at the lookout we can always adjourn to a shady spot at Glenbrook park and BBQ away.

I think the 5th is good for me. Anywhere will suit. The free electric BBQ in Glenbrook Park are good if we need them.

lock in 5th for me

Apologies guys, I actually meant the 12th. I have a b'day party to go to that is for most of the day on the 5th. If folks can only make the 5th then keep it at that. Let me know and I'll whack an entry up on the calendar.

The 12th is good for me JP.

I pretty sure I am fine for either date.

I think I'll be good for the 12th! Hopefully might even get Jo to come along!
