Sydney 24hr
Hi guys Rob and I just did the Sydney 24hr taking on the 6x6 option. I managed 5 laps whilst Rob cracked out 7.0 km, 10km a lap with a 2km hill climb. Not bad for one wheel riders. Definition of a hot lap, riding 10km in the 42deg heat in direct sun with no shade. I must say that the first lap was the hardest ride that I have ever done on any bike. We placed first and second in category and got some great prizes and cheq beer.

Congratulations guys!! and what a great result, all your hard work and training paid off.
That you are alive says a lot. Sounds like it was pretty granrly out there in the heat and all.
Rode there last year and even ignoring last years mud, it isn't an easy track all! I have no idea how you guys rode it?? Must have made the single speeders feel bad
What were your times like compared to the two wheelers?
Elite fastest time was 20.9 minutes. Most did around 30. Some riders were doing 1.30. Rob was doing around 50 minute laps while I was doing just over 1 hour. There was only 1 single speed bike and he came second in open cat.10 minutes after race end the heat wave broke.
I guess the big question, would you do it again or is once enough?
We are keen to do it again, the heat was the only real killer. Rob and Doc have now entered the Capitol Punishment in March.
Forgot to mention, i passed a 'Huffy', or maybe it passed me, going up the hill. It amazes me that people actually ride them in events like this!
The Huffy riders I guess are one level crazier than you guys
They should have a huffy division in these races, I am sure everyone would find it quite entertaining.
