Mojo bottle cage help?
NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
What do other Ibis mojo riders out there do for a bottle cage? I know there is a spot for one under the down tube but its hard to reach while riding and it also gets alot of dirt/ mud on it from the front wheel so its not an ideal spot.
People will tell me just to use a hydration pack which I already do, but in long events such as the dirtworks i'd like to have the camelbak for water and a bottle for electrolyte.
Does anyone have suggestions?

You could you mount a cage on the top tube using cable ties. A bit like this monstrosity!

KingCage also do a mount for the top of the stem:

I like the look of the one on the seat post. It doesnt look like you would lose the bottle easily. I have seen someone in an mtb race use bottle cages under the seat like a triathlon bike (see link below) but they bounced around alot and when he went over a rock he lost one.

Cable tieing a bottle cage to the top tube is a no go because thats where the cables are run.
The one discodan posted looks good, doesnt look like it would come out easily. Now will just have to find where to get one?
Have a look here for options

I use jersey pocket-but like the look of the seat post thingamajig!
it has no mounts at all. I wear a camelback but recently came across a handbar mounted bracket from Topeak. It's just a quick release thingy that you can then mount a cage onto. You can also mount it onto your seatpost if you wanted to but I can't as I have a reverb seatpost plus I would probably drop the bottle trying to put it back in. There are other seatpost mounted cage holders but the way they mount it looks like the bottles could restrict you getting behind your seat.
I think the topeak mount cost about $10

Thanks for all your replies guys. Im going to check out the topeak mount. it looks good. I'll try mounting on the seat post, i'd like to keep the handle bars as clutter free as possible.
Cheers
And miss the chance of ripping your crotch out on that thing if you go over the bars. Where's your sense of adventure?
