A good clip. Want to go out there now!
Thanks again.
Rode out there today and I must have hit Twisties 15 times, it is by far the most fun section in Glenrock, it is a bunch of fun trying to get a DH bike through there quickly.
Good to see some happy people on the trails today, you don't usually get acknowledged if you are peadalling a DH bike or a DJ bike.
Jumping the gun! What happened to it?! Where did the gaps go?! Why have the 3 little step downs disappeared?!
:'(
Welcome back to risk mitigation, Matty. The trails has to be rideable by all levels, just not yours.
If you want gap jumps, I suggest you buy a plot of land. I don't think that trails paid for by NPWS, would ever have gaps. There is still a few around, but only because they have not been table topped, yet.
It's not a complaint Macr! Merely a surprised observation.
Like many other things related to Glenrock these days, I just get shocked when I see it for the first time. I understand NPWS's priorities and goals, so I do understand why it's changed. The trail had eroded sections, and was poorly designed. It had to be changed. I'm just surprised at what was taken out.
Additionally, I thought these particular features were rideable by almost all levels. I use the word 'gap' very loosely. The 'kicker' was <10 inches off the ground, and the gap was not much more than a metre, as I'm sure you're aware. Undoubtedly these dimensions could be considered a tabletop by any rationale.
Either way, I'm stoked Glenrock is moving forward, and can't wait to get back amongst it.
This discussion has nothing to do with nutrition, despite what the thread title says.
I prefer Bacon dip, with my cheese Twisties!
Back on topic!
Went out and hit it again today, getting quicker, keeping the bike as flat as possible my front wheel is nearly landing in the gully at the bottom of the run, fun stuff.
How's the G-out in the dip when you do that?!
I've scared myself off it.
Fine I'm on a DH bike.
