Constant seat/seat post issues the first 50km, last 10km into service tent done standing. expensive new post installed set off to catch people only to get the chain stuck between the guide and ring when flying down shepards. A few minutes, some swearing and a few punches on the chain guide got me access to 4 of my 9 gears, after having spent at least 20 minutes addressing bike issues in the first 70km I was tempted to launch it into the water.
Looking forward to training tomorrow, more motivated then ever for a good result next race!
At least you started!
I'm calling the ones who piked out because of the weather softy's!
Which I am sticking to....
Tough muddy ride, mechanical issues and a busted mangina later.. crossed the bridge @70k (got the wrist band) yelled out a few swear words and simply turned right and rode the tar back into town in granny gear...
Pfffft... that's not cyclocross, it's not even snowing!
