With the dust settled on the pedal fest that was round 1 in South Africa, it was time to head to Fort William in Great Britain, into what can only be described as a five minute brutal rock infested downhill track with only a short pedalling section called the motorway!
In what is an interesting turn of events, Aaron Gwin has held onto his form that gave him his first ever win at world cup level in South Africa, coming down in a blistering time of 4.49.730!!..proving that he is really making a charge at the seasoned top 5 riders!..Also of interesting note is that a lot of fancied riders seem to have taken a rather lackadaisical approach to qualifying, would they be playing the weather card?, or is there form just not up to scratch?..All will be revealed tonight at 10pm.
On a sad note, Blue Mountains legend and figurehead Bryn Atkinson has suffered a pretty nasty injury last week and looks to be out for the season, heres wishing him all the best from his BMORC friends for a rapid recovery, lets look to his prettier half for some blue mountains cheering as Jill Kintner has qualified in 6th position in the womens elite downhill field!

So there you have it, does it show the true form of all riders, it sure shows that in the womens ranks, Atherton and Moseley are on target for a british 1-2 with the home ground advantage and both riding like godesses!
In the men it is hard to say, what has happened tp perrenial front runners, Peaty, Hill, Barel, Hannah et al. Is it a matter of saving themselves, or is injury plagueing them?..I suppose that results and viewing will reveal a wider truth, are riders like Hill, Fairclough waiting for the big technical steep tracks to really make there moves?..Has Peaty found the Guinness more fun than riding?
Stay tuned to freecaster.com for the full viewing and a full race report from me tommorrow!
