Round 3 World Cup Downhill Qualifying Leogang

This weekend sees the Downhill / 4cross show move to Leogang, Austria.
This is pure Alps territory, steep, technical, rooty and muddy, barely a pedal stroke in sight.
After Greg Minnaar taking out last years round in muddy, slimy conditions, could we expect him to repeat again?, or is Aaron Gwin still rolling along with nice form?. and Gee Atherton and Sam Hill, this track very much suits there riding style, for Hill this is new ground having not ever raced here, and for both Hill and Atherton this is where there campaign for the overall must kick off!
Also what has happened to Steve Peat, he just doesn't seem to be getting results, and as for the opposite end of the scale, the young guns, Neko Mullaly promised so much but has delivered very little, and Troy Brosnan, still in juniors but riding like a seasoned pro, he has exceeded all expectations, which bodes well for Aussie downhilling, also our other contenders, Mitch Delfs, he is starting to make his mark, with a couple of scintillating rides, and also Shaun O'connor!
This track and race will be very interesting, considering qualifying times are anything to go by, to me it looks like some very canny riders are playing the rain game( mediocre qualifying to ride early and avoid afternoon rain storms), remembering we are in the alps!, just like the Blue Mountains, it can rain suddenly with the mountains creating its own weather pattern!
So its good luck to the boys of Oz land, bad luck for the girls, nobody has bothered to publish there qualifying times!!!!!
Tune in tonight for the wonderful witty world of Warner!!
Couple of Warner clangers
1:( he is ripping it apart like a Jewish bar-mitzvah )
2:( that is the closest thing to public execution this side of Saudi Arabia )
3:( he is going berserk like a dog with 2 dicks)

Awesome having up to the minute info on what's what and who's on it
It's really making me enjoy the downhill WC season much more

I'm really excited for Jill too
Would be so awesome to see her do really well in her first year of world cup downhill
Her and Bryn are most down to earth people and given Bryns femur breaking stack it's doubly great to see her getting the results
I would just love to see her beat Rachel A - not because I don't RA, because I do
But I reckon she's the most impressive rider on the WC

And how funny is Warner - great clangers

Looking forward to the next report Mr T

The way she is improving, i can see a win coming, especially since the more steeper technical tracks are coming, Rachel atherton and Jill will be a massive factor in the next few rounds.
My tip: look to see Jill going close to a worlds rainbow jersey, all things considered, that its on a track that even the men fear, Steve Peat quote on Champery " its the steepest track i have ever ridden".
Will be much fun tonight!

You got me exited Todd... think I will sit in my cold office and try and watch it now. Yeah go Jill.

Also like seeing how well Troy brosnan's going.. he is really pushing things nicely. I look forward to when Connor Fearon starts racing these too I guess next year.
