She was riding a Cannondale... the result is always favourable...
Hey Nic!
very nice I must say!!
Things I loved:
Riding seemed so effortless, coming from a hardtail even riding with propedal was so cushy, didn't really need the full back suspension! Also very convenient that you can reach and turn the switch for the propedal while riding without really looking down. So much more stable and easier to keep the line downhill over the rocks and through the sand.
Liked the SRAM gear shifting A LOT.
Things I would possibly adjust if I bought one:
Definately narrower handle bars! Felt a bit like on a motor bike . Also would possibly adjust their height, which really suits me on my hard tail going down the technical bits.
Things to get used to:
Riding uphill I was struggeling a bit to keep my weight far enough forward and the front wheel kept lifting up but only at the second water bar up heart break hill.
Reason against it:
It doesn't fit on my roof rack (just kidding!!!)
So far so good!

When I first got on the Rush I thought the bars were stupidly wide. They were 700mm rather than 600mm on the Jekyll - huge difference.
But I rode with them for a while and began to get used to them, take it to Ourimbah and rip through the twisty Graveyard section - terrible first pass, then better, then something just clicked and loved it. That said - for places like Oxford Falls they are too wide and I caught them on the scenery (actually caught them once on a tree at another part of Ourimbah too).
I asked BA to chop 10mm of each end, they said that sounded a lot and they'd take 5mm. Doesn't sound much but still feels great... although after another ride at Oxford Falls I'll probably be back to ask for a little more - I'm really not convinced they are narrow enough for there.
As for the weight issue on the hills... did you have the saddle really high? That will help, but has it's issues on DH & technical sections. As always it's a compromise. And as for the stem - if you read the blurb on the Cannondale site the dealers are supposed to carry zillions of stems with many different angles to get you setup just right so you should be fine.
Ah - I was very sceptical about the SRAM shifters but love them now.
Basically, I tried a few new bikes before grabbing a Rush and love it. Go on, you know you want to
