HI, Will be doing the Oaks tomorrow - Woodford to EMu PLains.

Can anyone assist with the directions from Glenbrook to Emu Plains. Was thinking to get on the train a little bit earlier at Emu plains and get a little more riding in.

Thanks

It's mainly road with a small bushtrack thrown in.

To get to Lapstone Station, follow down Explorers Road off Lucasville Road from Glenbrook Park throughout the full length.
Head up over the railway bridge at the station. At the other side of the tracks, there's a bush track in the fence opening. Turn first right, go downhill for a few hundred metres until you finish at the end of a culdesac. Turn right at the T (River Road), and ride along the river for several kilometres until you make your way across to the Highway and back to Emu Plains Station.

Hope it helps. It's a worth it extension as although it's mostly paved, it's a lot of downhill and not much uphill.

You could go via Knapsack too. More fun than down through Lapstone.

The Oaks is dry and fast. The single track at the end ROCKS!! - Does anyone know where any other fast single track in Sydney is? Northern Beaches???

Will post update

I've done the Oaks a couple of times in the last week and the single track is awesome. As it is mostly downhill it just flows so well.

How was the technical part after the single track at the end. Heard you were all over it today Smiling Awesom ride

All over it. I think I brought some of the track home with me! At least that what its feels like!

Next time we should make a weekend of it and investigate Capertee Valley - Looks great! - I heard there are good pubs in katoomba which puts on great cold beer with an open fire. Accomodation should be easy to find. ANyone got any other ideas

Great to hear you guys enjoyed the ride! Try a dusk/night ride next time when it warms up a little.

Which way did you head back to Emu Plains?

Decided not to do the Emu Plains trip. Straight to Glenbrook. Certainly will consider next time.

Dusk sounds unreal. Yes warmer weather will be required. It was 3 degrees this morning

in a month (check ride database) and Oaks with the extension to Emu Plains. Try coming along next time!
