Knapsack XC this saturday (6.8.11)
Hey all,
Looking at checking out the XC trails at knapsack this saturday morning at 8am with the old man.
Haven't been there before and wondering if any of the locals are gonna be out there that may be able to show me around?
If not, where abouts is the trailhead located? Easy enough to find my way around without ending up a missing person?

It can be a bit tricky... print off this reference map and it should do for getting you around

The yellow lines mark the proposed new sections so they aren't currently there. All the red is there and is currently probably the most ridden worn in stuff so keep an eye open for tyre marks and you should be ok.
Really if you get lost just ride up the hill until you get onto Lovers Walk which runs along the centre at the top of the ridge.

Where abouts on that map is the trailhead?
I've ridden the DH there before, so have a rough idea where that is.

Currently the two best places to enter are either at the start of Lovers Walk where there is some parking on Barnett's St. On the left side of the map that is the top blue P symbol. You head east along Lovers Walk and then meet up with the red line of the trail. You may have parked here for DH previously?
Alternatively you can park next to the fields near the skate park on Moore St and pick up small bit of single track that crosses a small footbridge and Barnett's St (this is the bottom left corner of the map). You then go around the gate and up the hill. At this stage only a one way climb, (if the approval comes through this will one day be a loop.)

Chuck are you heading out? Im riding around 7.30am tomorrow, but am tossing up between knapsack and yellowmundie. If you plan to ride knapsack i will head out there on two wheels.
Was just going to ride over to Knapsack Park in the morning and give EV a quick tour beforehand.
