Has anyone had any experience with these frames? I can't seem to find much information about them, which leads me to believe they are probably not that good.

This is the frame in questions : http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebikes/fullsuspe...

I'm thinking of replacing my 2006 SX Trail frame with a 2009 Dakar XAM frame which looks to be a little more all mountain capable than the SX Trail which is more freeride/park oriented. The Dakar frame and shock is almost 2Kg lighter than the SXT frame, but loses 20mm in travel (150mm vs 170mm).

Part of the reason I want to change is I am 6' riding a medium SXT which is quite cramped. I'm doing less silly riding these days, so I'm thinking a large Dakar frame will be a bit nicer to pedal around the trails, but still be very forgiving.

The brand whore in me is telling me that I don't want a budget frame to replace my SX frame, but for $500 bucks can it be that bad?

Any thoughts/opinions?

I have owned an 07 XAM for 4 years, It has been a good bike and I ride it every weekend , it has endured many trips to menai and Kentlyn only prob has been a cracked swing arm which was replaced under warranty .I still ride this bike every weekend allthough less so off large drops ect and more X/C trail still a great bike.the 09 version is much more A/M F/R oriented with more travel and a stronger swing arm.

Build it up, and therefore have two bikes that cover all conditions. What could be better? Smiling
