must be one hell of a strong frame to have such a thick seatube!

im building a bike using a carbon fibre frame (just a taiwan built unit) .will soon see if its as strong as it looks.

the seatpost is a 34mm which suprised me as the trek fuel 9.9 is the only bike that runs it.

are you sure it is a 34mm seatpost? and not a 34mm seat tube as seat clamps only go up( easily accesable to the public) to 34.9mm anythimg bigger then that would be for a certain make by a certain brand like mentioned above trek and bontrager, cancel that if its the frame listed as a cone shaped head ie tapered then its your seat tube that is 34mm, your post will be smaller as it goes inside, probably a 30.9 or a 31.6 as they are the most readily used seat post around that size

yeah just dawned on me that its proberly a 34mm seat tube and smaller seatpole.the frames from asia so i wouldnt think they would have built a frame that didnt take a standard size post and also custom build a seat clamp.

cheers for pointing that out was getting worried about having to buy a bontrager 34mm for around $250.00 bucks.

USE have lots of different types and sizes of shims. I recently purchased an aluminium shim from CRC to adapt a Joplin adjustable seat post to my Scott Genius which has a 34.9mm seat post. The Joplin is 31.6mm so I purchased a 31.6 - 34.9 shim.
