Awaba Team Mate Needed
G'Day All,
After having bike dramas and thinking Ill struggle to front up to the Awaba 8hr I got lucky and got the bike back and running sweet. Then one of our male 3's team members has a stack, breaks his foot and is out for at least 2 weeks and possibly 8.
If anyone is keen to join us for a run, let me know ASAP.
I'm planning on running consistent low 40min laps (with some high 30's hopefully!) and our other team member will be in the mid-high 30's. But we're just there for fun and wont be at the pointy end.
If we can't find another rider we'll swap to a pair and just take it a bit easier but would ideally like a 3rd so we can push a bit harder.
If you feel like a good day out before the Chrissy rush, join us!
Cheers,
Ian

Hi Ian,
I am interested in joining your team. I may be able to bring a few unorthodox MTB skills to help sort out the more "competitive" in the field. I'll meet you at Awaba on saturday morning. Make sure you bring a carton of Crownies and a bullet proof vest.
At least big Mal would scare off the competition.
No takers? Might have to change to a pairs team but I can't ride that much!
You might want to post it on the Glenrock site http://glenrocktrailalliance.com because if they don't have their settings done they might not see it.
Giles you should do it. Seriously!!
Hey Ian,
Just ride it pairs if you can't find anyone, 4 hours over 8 you guys will manage fine..
I am doing the 8 on the SS, we can lend each other encouragement out there.
see you at AWABA!!
Thats the plan Steve if we can't get anyone.
Awaba seems fairly SS friendly, but stuff going round for 8hrs.
So we ran as a pair and managed 6 laps each, coming in 13th in male pairs out of 40odd starters.
My times blew out a bit after cramping pretty bad from the 3rd lap on but still did ok and suprised myself with 6 x 12km laps.
Great effort Ian, when I did that lap with you I was struggling to keep up. All I could think beside my back pain was wish I was riding my dually. After your cramping on the 3rd lap you did well to stay as consistant as you did.
Good job Ian. Cramping, back pain, sounds like a lot of fun, NOT.
Having done 2 of the choco foot events this year I like the social aspect of the racing. I think 3's is the go for me for a while so you have a team mate to chill with while waiting for your next lap.
I agree, I did every choc foot round last year, only 2 as a team of 2. 2 SS solo and geared. only one solo this year but I think next year I will go in pairs teams for anything over 6 hours. Condo last year was the best with a 2 man team. Did Rocky Trail Mt Annan solo as well, but again it would have been more fun as a pair.
Stromlo on the other hand coming down the mountain, solo was best cause the climb was worth the decent even after 7 hours.
