I've just got back from a ride and found a dent in my Crossmax. Anyone had the same problems before and know how to repair it? Or is there a Mavic service centre or a bike shop that will do repairs?

Thanks in advance.

Dent in the side wall of the rim? You may be able to press it back in. Use a shifting spanner set slightly wider than the thickness of the wall and gently work the dent back out.

Yup, the side wall. Its more of a long dent than a deep one.

You could very carefully try to straighten it with a shifter. But go easy. Al work hardens to it will be brittle, even if you get it back it will be weaker for it.

I'll look into that. Quite hesitant though as i'm not fantastic with my hands. Is there a Mavic Service Centre or are there any shops that does servicing/bring in spare parts for mavic?

Your favourite LBS will be able to get Mavic parts.

There's nothing special to it and any half-arsed mechanic can do it. I think most shops will avoid doing for the reasons flynny mentioned above (ie it will weaken the rim). If it is not too bad ignore it until its time to replace the rim.
