Hi Snowey,

I am 182cm and have a 2009 TCR advanced. Its a M/L or 57cm TT. I need a 90mm stem to make it work properly for me. A Medium (55.5cm TT) with a 110mm Stem could have worked too. I use a fair chunk of the seatpost though, and have the stem nearly slammed.

You'll need to try both, and you may not be happy with either. For what it's worth try a few different brands, as I really like bikes with traditional geometry and 56cm TT's.

I'm guessing you're looking to buy online which is why the question here. If I'm wrong then you should speak to the bike shop. Not only will they measure you up and make sure that you get the right fit but if they're worth a pinch of salt then they'll make all the adjustments and swap out anything that needs to be swapped out to get the right fit. My last road bike, they swapped out the stem, adjusted the seat post/seat position, were looking at swapping the cranks if necessary and a bunch of other things that made the bike feel fantastic.

I'm 175cm and ride a medium Giant TCR C1. I think if you're buying a quality bike like a TCR Advanced and spending a bit of money on it, best be fitted out at the shop.
