I picked up my new Trance X1 29er yesterday. I haven't been for a decent ride yet. Hoping it's dry enough somewhere for a proper pedal tomorrow!

Great looking bike! Always loved the trance as a 26' but i think this looks even better. Now get out there and flog it, the muddier the better. What kind of kit is she running?

Thanks, it's got X9 rear dérailleur, X7 front. Elixir 3 brakes. I hate Avid brakes so I'll upgrade to XT's when I wear the pads out later on. Yeah, it needs to get dirty now.

Been wanting a dually for a while and have got my heart set on either an Anthem or Trance 29er (looking to spend less than 3k) . . . and that bike looks nice.

Let us know how it handles. Thanks!

Where u on cascades this morning, i think i saw you with a mate just after the acron gate?

No. We went up to Awaba. The bike climbs really well and is fast and stable descending. I could really notice the shorter wheelbase through some tight corners on the single track compared to the Anthem 29er that I had. On some steep pinches the front wheel lifted a little (not too much of an issue). I now have the seat slid right forward which felt better. The geometry was great for sitting down while climbing, I hardly stood up. It was much kinder on my lower back compared to the Anthem. The bars felt a little weird but were ok. I will try something different down the track to compare. Overall first impressions were excellent. I'm going to try and hit Red Hill tomorrow as well to test it out on some bigger drops and tighter single track.

Nice colour scheme... and glad to hear it rides well. I'll be looking at something like this next year I expect.

re: the front lifting, I tend to shift forward and sit on the nose of the saddle. I found out later that's why mtb saddles have flat square noses Smiling

Thanks Hawkeye for the hot tips you mountain goat! I put the points on the front end in as a comparison to my Anthem 29er. Happy riding mate!

Hawkeye, the front of the saddle is where the chamois cream goes especially on stealth summer moonlite rides (ala the fat hippy) ;D --then a roadie saddle works too ;P

Sweet! Been waiting on the Trance 29ers to show!

How did the Red HIll ride go mate? Also, how much was it and where! Smiling

Im planning on picking one of these up this coming week

I didn't end up making it up to Red Hill. I got my bike from BA at Nth Manly for $2600. Get one, you won't be sorry!

Thanks for comparing the Anthem and Trance 29ers. Definitely given me a lot of food for thought! Cheers.

Nice looking bike. Might have to drop down to the lbs to take a look at one.

That's if I don't see one in Glenbrook soon!

It upsets me Sad They are $1600 less than what I paid for my Trance X 26" 2 years ago and I want one really badly!

Congrats, Great looking bike. Love the colour scheme.

I have a trance x 26'er I bought at the beginning of the year and love it. Have made a number of upgrades though but That's due to my bike bling addiction. Smiling

Trying to get a black, white and slightly red colour scheme going myself.

Happy riding.

Looks good... for a 29er Sticking out tongue

I thought RRP is really expensive tho!
The x 0 for example... You get XT drivetrain, No mention of UST rims, and an Alu frame for $3,800.
Considering I got a carbon 26 Trance with XT and XT UST wheels for $500 less...

Can the OP tell us if bike shops are charging RRP?

Jase, was that you I passed in the bus as you were pedalling up Allambie Road this evening?

Looks noice Smiling
