Council Elections
NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
I wouldn't ever want to be a one-issue voter (the P.U.M.P. Party lives on), however does anyone know who the candidates in the Warringah Shire Council election are who are supportive of mountain biking on the Northern Beaches?
Oldandslow, are you standing?

Most of the incumbents are supportive. The pain of having their inboxes smashed by 425 emails protestong the closure of Mamly Dam is still reasonably vividin their memories i think.
No, sorry despite the huge amount of pressure to run, I am currently occupied as Bronnie Bishops new stylist/media advisor.
Vive le P.U.M.P.
Of the incumbents, the two Greens Christina Kirsch and Conny Harris are both anti MTB. (and anything else in the bush, to be fair)
The current MTB frendlies are Michael Regan and Virginia Laugesen, Who helped get Manly Dam back to us, The others are mostly Ok with MTB also.
Greg
Virginia Laugesen sent me an email a couple of weeks ago reiterating her support for MTB. I must still be on her list from the barrage of emails they received, lol.
In general her track record on council matters, such as overturning that ridiculous parking sticker policy change, has been agreeable. We're in C ward so she'll be getting our votes.
