Ian_A | 4th place in 1st solo 4hr | The goal going into this race was to simply finish on the bike, still peddling. Once at the race I secretly had the goal to beat Vinno and his mate in the pairs. |

I can't find much specific info up for the event.
Just looking for the minimum age for juniors and can they run a pair or does it need to be 3?
Also what is the required lap ratio for a mixed pair? 2:1?
Sorry - the info is a bit hidden on the WSMTB web site (waiting to get an update done):
Pair's Men, Pair's Women, Pair's Mixed:
NOTE: for Mixed Pairs the female rider must complete 1/3 of the total number of laps.
$45 [+ 1 x day licence $20.00 for each rider if a non-MTBA member]
Three's Mixed Only:
NOTE: for Mixed Three's One female rider must complete 1/5 of the total number of laps.
$60 combined [+ 1 x day licence $20.00 for each rider if a non-MTBA member]
Three’s Juniors [Mixed]:
$30 combined [+ 1 x day licence $20.00 for each rider if a non-MTBA member]
Min age for Juniors is 13 at end of the year - but contact me on xc@wsmtb.com if this will be an issue.
Ray
Thanks Ray.
Entered for my first solo short course race.
My aim is to just make it through the 4hrs in resonable shape.
Looking forward to it.
Not many BMORCers attending? Seems like a good, cheap race to me.
Trying to make us feel guilty Ian?
Ian, we elected you, Stephen, (insert other names here) as our Pro Riders for 2012 season.
Go team BMORC!!!
I'll be rocking the BMORC jersey Mick, represent.
Stephen can make up the pro team, I'll just be happy to not fall to pieces.
You raced last year with Todd didn't you Giles? You and Mick would make a good team. The Wed night crew would smash it too.
I'm looking forward to it, nervously though.
Please enter online as soon as you can. It will save you (and us) time on the day. Also, registrations on the day cost an extra $10.
Hi - is there a specified time from which lights will be compulsory, or is just going to be down to rider discretion?
I suppose its probably something like 7.30pm that it gets dark-ish right?
I think I saw on their facebook page that it's mandatory after 8 for front and rear.
Are you racing Ants? say G'day each time you lap me - I'll be wearing my BMORC jersey.
Yeah - I think i will race - probably as a solo - as I had a shocker at the Fling, and have at least 4hrs of training and rage to let loose somewhere.....
Might be a team entry though - depends on how long my lights will last as a solo! Hence the question on light-up times.....
You in then Mick?
Come on Mick! My missus is even having a go!!
Sorry, I'm out for a few weeks with a sore hamstring. Maybe next time.
Soft! Any BMORC'ers hard enough for a pairs entry?
That "Soft!" comment will come back to haunt you Mr Hathill.
Unfortunately I have to go to NZ and ride Rotorua...
Shame.
Hi all - the time for lights to be on will be up to the Race Director, and will depend on ambient light on the night. I'd be prepared to have lights fitted for laps starting from about 7.30pm onwards.
Ray
Locked in the solo entry. Happy to do 1 lap for every 4 of Ian or Stephens!
See you there BMORC'ers.
Dutchy is going solo too - the dark horse. Stephen will be extra fast as he's in a pair with his wife.
4hrs is a long time so I'll be going slow and steady.
...which makes me committed. Never done one of these solo before.
Getting those lights on charge....!
Awesome guys, should be a fun evening.
Hope this rain clears up.
Not looking promising at the moment. My gutters are overflowing as I write this.
I rode Bluegum this afternoon before this rain and there was a fair bit of standing water already. Yellomundee does take the rain heaps better than bluegum though.
Have a great time Jim. Interested to hear just how much fun Rotovegas is!
Soft...of course I'm soft...that's why I'm a BMORCer...if I wanted to race round & round Yellomundee I'd join WSMTB!
And so the haunting begins
At 09:50am Sat 17 Nov - the track has been inspected and is all OK to race. Rego will be from about 4pm to 5.40pm sharp.

Great race last night.
Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls.
Good BMORC contingent there too.
Damn happy with 4th in solo male and 8th overall.
Great racing last night from all, everyone appeared real happy with their results. Unfortunately Craig a little to happy when I said at the end he beat Ian, damn that other Ian Anderson!
My wife and I had a Great race with Liza completing 3 laps sticking to the required mixed pair ratio, only 4 more minutes quicker I could have squeezed in 5 laps. I'm very proud of her effort and also my son who did his first junior 3's team with 2 other mates that haven't raced this format and have only ever done 1 lap racing in the past. They each got in 2 laps each and only time beat them cause they wanted to do more.
A great evening out - always wanted to do one of the twilight rounds and now I know why. Managed not to come last in the class with 6 laps so happy with that.
Great atmosphere out there and all the riders were considerate with lots of thank-you's when I moved over to let them by, especially the juniors.
Thanks to the real Ian Anderson for letting me bludge some room under his awning
See you all in January!
Are the results online?
They're on the WSMTB facebook page.
I'd upload the PDF to here but I don't know how.
Do you have a link to the facebook page as I can't find it and they don't have one on their website?

Thanks. I can't see that as I don't do facebook and it isn't public
