Just looking at the tracks on Google Earth, they appear to be updated sometime within the last 4 months.

I checked my house and I they haven't updated it, as I moved my boat about a year or more ago and Google still shows it in the old spot.

It may only be some places they've updated. My wife and myself brought a unit in July, it wasn't on Google Earth then, or a few months after, but now it is. It seems that they've updated the maps around RedHill/Oxford Falls/Terry Hills/Ingleside area that contain lots of cool tracks.

Yeah, if you mean they have new hi-res images for certain areas, sure, this is an ongoing process. Mt York got some new images last weekend for example.

You know you're a nerd when you notice pretty much as soon as it happens Eye-wink

As for tracks - well, the 'roads' setting has been quiet good for a while and shows many firetrails and some walking tracks. Doesn't show everywhere we ride though! Laughing out loud

I don't have access to Google Earth but are they the same images as the SIX viewer from the Department of Lands?

They are looking very sharp, and best of all I can see them at work. Eye-wink

Lands NSW had images shot from aircraft (as opposed to satellites) long before Google so doubt they are the same. Esp. as Google made a big deal about the hi-res of Sydney they had shot on Australia Day (it was then, wasn't it?) this year for example.
