2013 CTMBC Chase the Sun #2
The main rd in has been dusty as all get up so in an effort to keep on the good side of the locals it might be best to come in via the showground.
From the highway come into Rydal, cross the train tracks and take a left before the Pub (Showground signposted.)
Go around the top side of the show ground and follow the road around to the left. This will take you around towards the top side of the cemetery. from there a couple of cross rd will bring you back tot he bicentennial trail and thus the car park
It's back, Tuesday Night Racing at Rydal.
Kids under 16 get free race entry (License fees apply)
First 4 or so racing rounds will not require lights. Then as days get shorter lights will be needed for anyone doing more than 1 lap until every will be starting int he dark come end of Day light Savings.
If you could click the star to show your intention of coming so we get an idea of numbers that would be great.
Kick off is 6:30 so 5:45pm rego opens, if you are new or need to renew your license please turn up earlier rather than later.
We are fairly relaxed, A grade just means you do more laps and we encourage every one to have a go, we don't have podiums or prizes so it's about getting out there and competing against your own time and your mates.
So don't be intimidated by the "race" tag. We all just go out to do our best.
Doing the higher grade with more laps will gain you more series points.
There is a shorter track for juniors and we've had increasing numbers in u13s and u10s
Racing starts at 6:30pm
Lights
Lights are a must from outside day light savings and on those rounds indicated above you wont be able to start unless you have atleast one working front light.
We recommend at least a 5w halogen equivalent.
You can get powerful el chepo LED from just about any where but if you are after something top notch check out the Aussie madeK-lites from out good friend Kerry Stait.
Most of us head back to the Alexander hotel at Rydal for a feed and a drink afterwards.
Were you there and have a story to tell?

After last weeks wash out the Central tablelands Mountain Bike club got there 2013 XC series underway on Tuesday night, and it was great to see some new faces trying it out for the first time.
The clubs efforts in weatherproofing the trail with proper drainage and rock armouring meant that despite the heavy rains across the weekend the trail was in great shape, the seemingly endless found in corners leaving riders grinnning from ear to ear as the ducked and weaved their way through the trees.
Backing up from the punishing 130Km Alpine Classic up Mount Buffalo on the weekend, Garry Dukes showed no signs of tired legs as he sped off the start line and lead the race from start to finish in a dominant display.
Matt Cowley held Garry's wheel for the first lap but was unable to hold the pace, still finishing in a strong second place.
Caught in no mans land riding on his own Gavin Hill showed great determination to keep on the limit as he rode into a clear third place.
Robin Partridge did it for the women taking out rd over all in B grade with a constant smile and some hard riding.
Dylan Walsh took out under 13s doing 3 laps a head of newcomer Jack Graham on 2 laps and pocket rocket Caleb Barnes on 1 lap.
CTMBC race every Tuesday night at Rydal and all riders are welcome. The trail is flattish and easy enough for anyone to get around in their own time but gets harder the faster you try to go. Despite the "racing" tag the club is relaxed and you'll find a welcoming, encouraging environment rather than the racer boy mentality, we don't even hold a podium. It's all about getting out there, pushing your own limits and having fun.
For 2013 CTMBC are offering free entry to kids and women for the entire Tuesday night series. There are some licensing costs but the club will waive your first day license so you can see if you like it without paying a cent.
