Rocky Mountain Element 29er ?
I'm doing my research for a duallie 29er.
Does anyone here own or have ridden the Rocky Mountain Element 29er ? and can share their thoughts ?
The reviews I've read looks promising, but they're not too popular in Australia I don't think, probably due to price and availability.
Other bikes in contention are the Specialized Epic Comp Carbon and the Anthem Advanced 29er 1.
Giant's on top when it comes to the components that comes with the bike, for less than $4K you get full XT and SID forks. Also lifetime warranty.
Specialized is somewhere in the middle.
Out of the 3 bikes I've only had a real trail test with the Anthem.
I'm still months or maybe even a full year away from a purchase (minister of finance still needs convincing) so I'm trying to read as much and if possible try out as many bikes as I can before spending my hard-earned.

Have you had a look at the Whyte 29ers? Same 4-bar link design as the Spesh, without the price tag or short-fatigue-life carbon.
Looking closely at one for some time this year.
no haven't looked at Whyte yet hawkeye.
Do test ride the epic. I was on the verge of pulling the credit card out on the giant anthem when I decided I needed to check out the epic just to make sure. Admittedly the comparison was on tarmac but the brain does make quite a difference. Two months on and having ridden a giant trance for the last 5 years I can safely say this is one fun and fast bike (finally smashed my PBs around the dam and then some). Biggest negative for me was that I didn't like the feel of the brakes having got used to the latest XTs but CRC soon solved that problem for me.
I guess it depends what you are primarily looking for from your next bike. For me, it's about enduro racing and for that the epic is ideal but I reckon the anthem would be a pretty close match.
If your looking for rocky mountain bikes in Perth, go speak to Dave at Liberty Bikes. He has a couple there as well as being a Specialized dealer. 143 Walter Rd W, Dianella WA 6059
have just tranfered off an epic to a RM altitude ... i know its not the 29er but just come from townsville and they have a large following up there ... i know two fellas who just completed a 7 day NZ extravaganza and they loved the bikes !!! the same guy also did DH on his!!!
apparently they roll awesome and have the turning circle of a 26er ... i would go for a ride on all and see how you like it... just my 2c
