Duration:
2 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
If it's raining, I won't be there.
Ride Database Entry:
Kinross State Forest
Meeting Point:

The city of Orange is around 4 hrs from Sydney and 3 hrs from Canberra. Kinross State Forest is situated on the northeast edge of town, a 10 minute drive or 20 minute ride from the Orange town centre.

Meet at the Bulgas Road carpark, Western edge of the forest.

Drive out from Orange on the Ophir Rd, before you reach the rubbish tip, turn right onto Bulgas Rd. Follow this about 2km to the forest (the road turns to gravel).

Note that the 'Directions there' google maps link below may not give the best route/destination. It seems that google maps ignores Bulgas Rd when selecting a route and gives the next closest spot. The 'Meeting point' link should be correct.

-33.269312,149.16427 (Bulgas Road carpark)
Details:
  • 2 hour multi-lap event
  • Similar track to the upcoming STM in November (6-8km loop).
  • 10am start (sign on from 9:15)
  • Multiple categories to be decided on the day depending on numbers (if you don't think you can do 2 hours then come and enter as a pair relay)
  • Drinks and sausages afterwards
  • It's all about fun so come and have a crack.

Thanks for all coming to make a great race today. About 33 riders I think.

If anyone is missing a 'kow' bag left at the car park then get in touch to get it back.

Results will be up sometime soon(I hope).

There were a couple of injuries today (one on a warm up and one on the first lap). We hope you have a speedy recovery. Big thanks to Yvette for her excellent first aid work.

It's quite possible there are mistakes. Let me know if there are.

Thanks Grant, Evette and Nick? for helping Liza get back to the car park and taking so much care in doing so.
Liza has a fractured shoulder but in good spirits and keen to get back on the bike, she is more upset about missing the Fling this year now than anything else.

Also thanks to the other injured rider who gave his spot up at the hospital and allowed Liza through triage first, I hope your X-ray comes up clear and your back on the bike quickly.

See you all at the STM race

Steve

That'd be Mick who drove Liza back down.

All the best and we are all wishing Liza a speedy recovery.
