Hi there

Anyone tried this dropped post?

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/151102035073?nav=SEARCH...

Is 90mm enough travel?

Thanks for any feedback

Couple of comments...that e-bay ad is for the older model. The updated model has the small black box on the seat post where the cable goes in for pretty much the same price(check other vendors ads).

These also comes as a 2 or 3 position post - I believe the older model is the 2 position post. The current model also has 110mm travel.

Here is the manufacturers site with the current 3 position/110mm post.

Doesn't have the multiple positions of the more expensive hydraulic models, but it also doesn't have seals to leak. I'm sold on price and simplicity.

It's way more expensive sure, but I'd save a bit more and go with a Reverb.... Infinite adjust is REALLY cool Eye-wink

or better still

I'd have a look at TBSM too (that's where I bought mine). Or other sources....

I'd highly recommend going the 'Right-Hand' control and running it upside down on the left side of the bars. Easy to flip ya bike if needs be, without the worry of trashing the remote. Although you might need to check whether the remote is MMX (IIRC, mine had a detachable screw mounted adapter for the MMX) or not. If it *IS ONLY* MMX then the right-hand upside down on the left of bars thing goes out the window ... Sad

The kit I bought came with all the bleed stuff included, but I'm not sure if that's still the case.

Good luck and happy dropping - you won't look back!

Cheers,
M

I think 90mm may not be enough adjustment. Some have 100mm but most have 125-150mm. As mentioned above, I would go with a new seatpost where you know the warranty will be honoured. These seatposts are notoriously finicky.

You want something that is rock solid when you actually are sitting on it, which is likely to be more often than you use the dropper function. If there is any play when you sit on the thing it will annoy the crap out of you.

Thanks for the opinions. Another question, my current post is 30.9. Any chance I could get away with using a 31.6 or do I need to go for a 27.2 and use a shim?

You talking about jamming a 31.6 post in a 30.9 hole?

Yeah, thats not going to work.

Also looking at a KS eTen. Anyone tried one of these? Which bike shops in Sydney stock KS?

Google Pushie or look for Nerf Herder either here or Rotorburn.

Order a KS seatpost.

Enjoy an excellent product back by exceptional customer service (really, Al / Pushie is THAT good).
