I have the Shimano XTR FC-M985 Double ring crank set. I've lost 1 chainring Bolt. I need to replace it.
just wondering what I need to look out for. Just trying to save extra postage cost.
I know I can get the proper shimano chainring bolts from ebay.
but will these fit as well?

I'm out of action anyway. but since its comming from the same place & saves me a heap of postage. I was wondering if anyone knows if these will fit?
I'm also getting a chainring. My chain ring is toast as well.

Might be worth checking the diameter you need.
I had to replace a lost chainring bolt on a M775 XT crank, and though it's a triple ring setup with a 10mm bolt, I'd suspect you may need the same.
Actually ended up getting these as they were the cheapest that did the same job as the rest.

on Shimano it says M8X7...so I assume that the bolt for the double ring would be 7 mm?
To me the M8x7 means it's 8mm diameter and 7mm total length for the thread of the male side. That would mean that the outer diameter of the female side of the pairing would have to be at least 10mm to allow adequate width for its side walls.
If you have the crank on hand, it's probably easiest to measure the hole diameter on the ring as that should clear up what you need.
