Duration:
4.16 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
I'll be there, no matter what the weather.
Ride Database Entry:
Kinross State Forest
Meeting Point:

The city of Orange is around 4 hrs from Sydney and 3 hrs from Canberra. Kinross State Forest is situated on the northeast edge of town, a 10 minute drive or 20 minute ride from the Orange town centre.

Meet at the Bulgas Road carpark, Western edge of the forest.

Drive out from Orange on the Ophir Rd, before you reach the rubbish tip, turn right onto Bulgas Rd. Follow this about 2km to the forest (the road turns to gravel).

Note that the 'Directions there' google maps link below may not give the best route/destination. It seems that google maps ignores Bulgas Rd when selecting a route and gives the next closest spot. The 'Meeting point' link should be correct.

There seems to be some consternation from some Sydney folk regarding the weather. Apparently the weather isn't so good down there today?

We had about 14mm last night at the official rain gauge (about 15km from town), I'm not sure if we got that much at the forest. Actually if we don't get much more it will probably still be a bit dusty on the track tomorrow.

It's fairly dry on the ground here right now. I noticed that the sun has emerged enough for my solar powered pond water fall to run Smiling

Come on out and have a ride! There's still time to enter this evening at the forest (or if you beg we may let you enter in the morning).
