WSMTB Summer 4 Hour - Round 1 at Wylde
Wylde MTB Car park and Trail head is just off Elizabeth drive located next to the Sydney International (Cecil Park) Shooting Centre. The turn off can be found on the left 3km Due west from the M7 Motorway or on the right 600m Due East from Mamre Road.
Stan’s No Tubes – WSMTB Summer 4 Hours Series. We are really pleased to announce that Round 1 of this XC series will be at the new Wylde MTB Trail at Cecil Park on Sunday 16 November, 8am – 12pm.

Registrations close on Monday 10 November, so please get in quickly! We are limited to 400 riders and it will fill up soon – especially when we post it on Facebook later this week. You will not be able to register on the day at the race. If the race is postponed or cancelled, a full refund will be possible.
As always, watch the WSMTB Facebook page and web page for any last minute updates (including for weather).

I went for a recce lap and only rode about 3km before being forced to pull off and wash my bike off.
The sticky clay made for treacherous conditions and there would definitely have been accidents if it had gone ahead.
Stay away from this place if there's even a sniff of rain.
It certainly wasn't built as a wet weather track!
Looking forward to the next one though.
It's not that it wasn't built as a wet weather track, the soil types just don't allow for it. The only solution for that would be bring in masses of rock or more fibreglass mesh. Drainage has been built in to allow it to dry quicker and not erode too fast.
The bigger problem is riders cutting new lines in, especially around rocks. The M7 isn't that far away if some mtbers don't like rocks.
You can tell all the track is built to drain properly but as you said, the soil has too much clay in it.
I understand that it would have been to costly to bring other soil in.
Yes - the clay in this general area (including Annan) is the issue. The rain stopped on Sunday by 9am. By 10am the surface was just a bit tacky. By 11am it was perfect to ride - and it would have been great to put 200 riders over it to help compaction.
I did a lap at 10am Monday just to pick up any rubbish/bunting. It was already starting to get dusty in places - especially those corners which are being cut (and therefore off the compacted route). Some of these deviations I can see some reason for, ie they avoid a "difficult feature" - but some are just pointless short cuts. I wonder if the later are Strava driven? Anyway, some logs, branches have been moved in places to help stop this. I hope it works!

Reschedule in February would be great. I would have liked to register for last weekend but not to be so another opportunity would be something to certainly look forward to.
Round 3 of our Stan's NoTubes - WSMTB 4 Hour Summer Series is scheduled for 22 Feb. That could be a possibility - but would maybe depend on how kind Western Sydney Parklands are with us on the "User Fee" component of last Sunday's costs.
It costs WSMTB about $3,000 in fixed costs to put on such an event at Wylde - now with nil return. So we have to think very carefully about it.
Given that you elected not to run the event out of a wish to avoid damaging the trail (at least in part), I would hope you'd get full credit.
