Seasucker racks

Does anybody use Seasucker racks to transport their bikes? Looking at getting the mini bomber, gives you the ability to move rack between cars without having to have roof racks etc. I'm looking at using it on the hard lid of my Amarok.

They seem strong enough...
I've never heard of them but what a good idea! I just hope the suction cups weren't produced by the companies that made my GPS mount, Gopro mount and iPhone mount, which all inevitably seem to fail at inopportune moments.
Can you really trust them....I have never had vacuum ones and they do look great, in fact very tempting as my other car does not have a tow bar and to put one on is just ridiculously expensive !
Thanks for this post, I never knew these existed....
the trick to making suction cups work is to spray the bottom of the sucker with a very light coat of silicon spray lubricant before you stick it down. Works a treat. Not sure I would do that on the duco but certainly for in car gps / phone / phablet mounts it works.
I wonder if they'd pull the paint off on older cars?
I think WD40 would be fine, it has a petroleum based carrier which car duco is designed to resist, in contrast to anything alcohol based which would be a problem.
Feel free to test it out and let us know the results
I personally do not trust anything with a suction cap.
This looks like an amazing solution for people with more than one car, but I wonder if you can lock them so its secure on the car whilst out on the trails. If not it'd be easy pickings for the local crims.
I guess you could remove it once at the trails and stash it out of sight in the boot but that'd be a bit of a hassle.
Bought the smaller one a few weeks ago, excellent investment. Fully secure and stable, even upto 120km/h. Easy to install and remove, however if you intend on attaching a MTB, you need to get the blue adapter! Also, look out for thieves when leaving the bike but other than that, great, versatile investment. I got mine from CFN in Newcastle
No bike is ever theft free when fitted externally to a car. A bike can be ripped from a locked Thule 591 in about 10 secs. I would never leave my bike 'locked' on the car whilst I go somewhere .
These things have been tested on Nascars at extraordinary speeds and cornering forces with no issues. As you say, bike off, release the vacuum and stash it in the car until you get back from your ride!
They are expensive, but when you compare to getting racks or towbars for cars and then the bike racks themselves on top of those initial costs, these end up being cheaper.
