Moving from San Francisco Bay Area California to Sydney - Seeking information
Greetings mates. I'm not sure if this is the right Club to post this message on. Please let me know if there are other Clubs you think this message would be appropriate to. I just did a search of Sydney Mountain Bike Clubs and chose this one to make my first post.
I'm relocating from California with my Aussie wife in July 2015. I'm an extraordinarily fit intermediate XC rider and will be looking to connect with a few knowledgeable riders to assist me with answers to some questions. I'm currently riding a new Santa Cruz Carbon 5010 (27.5) 1 x 11 on Enve wheels. Super sweet ride. My other stead is a 1986 Brridgestone rigid converted commuter.
Are there regular group rides through the bmorc? I'm hoping I might be able to tag-a-long with a rider who has room on his rig for another bike until I get some wheels.
We are shipping a container. I get pro deals on gear/equipment through a good friend who's a Pro rider. I'm not sure if this is appropriate for the forums, but I'm willing to "entertain" (if it's within reason) bringing some gear/equipment over for others. Although I imag I'll have to be careful of import taxes on new stuff.
Do you use Thule products there?!! I assume so since they're international. I get 60% off for my next order. I'm not sure what kind of car I'm getting, so im hesitant in bringing Thule rack gear. What's the most common rack products used there?
Well, that's all for now. I'm sure I'll have other questions as time passes.
Cheers,
Michael DiBenedetto

Hi Michael.
bmorc is not so much a club as an internet forum for people to catch up with others to ride. Abilities and fitness vary between riders. NobMob is the parent site and links in with a wider range of riders over a broader region.
When you get here post up the area you want to ride and I'm sure people will volunteer to play trail guide. There are loops ranging from 10-100+km in the Blue Mountains depending on how far you want to go.
WSMTB is the local mtb racing club in the Western Sydney/Blue Mountains area. We're based out of Yellomundee Regional Park in Yarramundi but also hold races at other venues occasionally (like this weekend at Wylde mtb park).

Do you know which suburb your moving into?
BMORC is Western Sydney and Blue Mountains focused and there are plenty on sweet trails and local riders around.
NobMob.com was a Northern Sydney group but has basically grown to become a Greater Sydney group plus more.
Rotorburn is Australia's biggest mountain biking forum. Maybe worth a post there.
If your into xc racing, look up the Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club on Facebook.
