In support of Alberto Paulon and #AlbisRide today, Senator Janet Rice gave this moving speech in the federal senate last night.
After Senator Rice's successful motion calling on the federal government to invest in cycling infrastructure, she talked about the health and economic benefits of cycling and the lessons from this week’s bicycle summit which was attended by Cycle and Bicycle NSW board member Sara Stace.

from the bicycle summit. Finally the industry has got on board with the idea that they need to grow the size of the pie together before they start cutting it up. A unified voice will help significantly.
Disappointing but not unexpected that Bicycle Network declined the invitation to participate - they're now the only State advocacy body not on board with the idea of legislating minimum safe passing distances.
What a pity it's taken the death of Alberto Paulon to sbarpen everybody's focus on the issue of safety.
