Someone just posted this on MTB-OZ, thought it would be of interest here:

A guy I know from the aerial photography forum has been experimenting with aerial video using his radio controlled helicopter. His stuff is awesome, and includes chasing someone down a ski slope, while operating the controls while he skied down behnd!

But I reckon the real appeal of his work is the brilliant editing and juxta positioning of the different elements,.

Here is the geek squad! (the guy with his jacket over his head is controlling the camera via a downlink screen)

id love to have a go at all that but id rather spend the 5 to 10 grand on a bike rather than a remote chopper and a hi quality vid cam!
i know some of you might think differently but ive less chance on smashing a bike to peices than a remote chopper! Eye-wink

Seeing as your chances of smashing a bike to bits are a sure thing... hmmmm Eye-wink

That is the future of sports video. Mtb, skiing, whatever. The heli's will get bigger and more expensive too.
