Decided to do some regular maintenance on my rims with DT 240 hubs. Drive side bearing is only accessed once the ring nut is removed. 3 bike shops later and I managed to get someone to replace the bearing. Now the wheel locks up because the ring nut has been installed wrong way up!! Last time I get a bike shop to do anything on my bike. Can't take the wheel back as I'm not in Perth!! No riding for two weeks now, thanks to Giant in Perth. 240 might be good hubs but don't try to change wheel bearings. Hope hubs are looking real good ATM

Nothing wrong with DT240 hubs, your problem is the so called mechanic!

Can you not swop the nut over yourself?

I don't get it. Is the problem the Giant rims, Giant Perth (not that Giant have a shop in Perth), the bike shop or the DT240 hubs?

DT240s are great hubs. Must have done a hell of a lot of riding for them to need anything.
2 years of hard aggressive riding and mine still spin like new.

Sounds like you happened to get a shitty mechanic and now want to swap wheels/hubs because they messed it up.
Take it back to the shop and get them to fix it (and replace any possibly damaged parts for free), and don't go back there again.

I also think that there is no issue with the DT240 hubs. Consult good mechanic for the diagnosing of the problem. Make it fix and best of luck!
