Meeting Point:

Meet at the Knapsack soccer field gates

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.
Details:

All are welcome!!!

Start at 8:00am at the Knapsack soccer field gates.

Plan of works: Focus on rock armouring the entry and exit to the creek crossing on the new trail behind the soccer fields. Further work on other sections of this trail as well.

Blue Mountains City Council have hired Adrian from Synergy to lead the Maintenance days.

Trail maintenance will only run for 4hrs. To get the most out of it, please arrive early and be ready to start.

Bring Shovels, Picks and Rakes. Remember to clean any soil off at home as we don't want any soil brought in from home. A good scrub with a wash down of Metho (70%) diluted with water (30%) is highly recommended to minimise the risk of spreading plant and soil born deceases and/or introducing weeds.

Bring plenty of water and snacks to get you through.

Please wear full covered shoes. Preferably boots.
long sleeved shirt and trousers is recommended.
Gloves, hat and sunscreen are also recommended.

Recommend insect repellent as the area we are working on has lots of leeches.

***EXTREMELY IMPORTANT***
Council and Synergy need to know in advance the number of Volunteers that will be coming. With a bigger turn out means Council and Synergy will hire more staff for the day which also means we can get more done.
If too many people are turning up unannounced it is possible volunteers may be turned away. We do not want this to happen so please register if you are coming.

Please click the link to say you will be coming or send an email to contact@bmorc.com

Some details may be subject to change. Please check for updates.

Well that's us three again!

Hoping we get some surprise helpers.

Bump!!

What Moggio said. Anyone else able to help out?

Chuck's picture

Well done Trim!! We need all the help we can get at the moment.

See you at Knapsack.

Well lets get at it as early as possible with lots to do!

Mike can you bring your "Doofer", I will need it to finish that corner up the hill, lots of material to pack down. Better with the doofer than my rake/hoe which is on its last legs.

Chuck's picture

Sure, the Doofer I will bring!

I'll bring my rock tools too.

Hey guys any news about possible dates for our next build day?

Also I was thinking that perhaps when all the signs are finally up we should hold an Open and Show morning where those who know the loop/s can show novices to Knapsack around and how to link up the tracks.

I asked Tim the other day. I think still waiting to hear back from council? I could really go a build day!

An open day would be good, but would lower my Strava position on the loop, which is tenuous at best.

Looking forward to another build day too. I'm finally going to ride this section today. Smiling

Rode Knapsack again today... the new and reworked sections work so well that all the eroding pinchy bits just drag the vibe down. Can't wait to start fixing some of that stuff up.
