Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my drivetrain components on my Cannondale F7 disc until I can purchase a good dual suspension.
I would love to go to LBS and say upgrade this however to budget constraints I was going to order from CRC.
I'm looking at purchasing:
Shimano XT Cassette 9 Speed M770
Shimano XT Rear Derailleur M751
Shimano HG93 Chain 9 Speed
Shimano XT Front Derailleur Conventional M771
This bike currently has FC-M311 cranks square taper. I was reading some Shimano docs and it seemed to state that these
cranks are 8/7 speed compatible only??? If so can anyone reccomen new crankset and/or bottom bracket on CRC that I
should purchase or any thoughts on the parts listed. I am looking at purchasing elsewhere Deore XT ST-M760 Dual Control Shift
/ V Brake Levers. I'm not worried about the weight of components just want good quality.

buying from chain reaction cyles online store my not be the cheapest option. have a look at local bike shops online
such as woolys wheels in paddington. they have a lot of older new stuff still in stock such as chains and cogs etc.
8 speeds and 9 and very cheap. as the dollar is week internationaly youll still be paying postage when buying from
europe or usa.

king of the mountain in neutral bay has online a crankset shimano deore m530 9 speed for $99.95.
and beware as in store price will cost more than buying online.
so shop around to compare but these sound like good prices to me.

... that's about half the LBSs

The prices are looking good in AUD at CRC in my basket compared to other
online bargains. I shop Torpedo religously however the range is limited.
I was looking at the total price going up and decided I might as well
grab the levers/shifters from them and save the $50 roughly shipping cost.
Can anyone see any incompatabilities problems or better combo's with the current selection?
Should I look at groupsets and try and match those combo's or is it not a big issue as
long as it's all 9 speed!
Any other reccomendations for cranksets?
....I used to order from them when I lived in London, but it was only about 6 months ago that they started doing international orders. They have free shipping for orders over about A$250, and many of the prices are the same ballpark as CRC.

Hi, I'm quite sure the bottom bracket cups come with the chainset so you won't need to buy the xt ones, just email them to confirm, they definitely do come with the XT chainset. With the cassette I buy the 11-32 instead of the 11-34 as I find the 34 tooth gear so low it's almost unusable and the 11-32 cassette gives you slightly closer ratios and you'll save a few grams of weight as a bonus.

When I bought my XT crankset, about 6mnths ago, it came with the bottom bracket. Check the description of the crankset. Or email them as Carlgroover suggested.
